Exciting Changes: Our New Name & Regulatory Status

We are pleased to share an important update about our legal practice. As of 1 March 2025, our regulatory status will change from a Freelance Solicitor to a Recognised Body, regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). This change reflects our growth and commitment to providing high-quality legal services. You can view our updated SRA profile here:

What This Means for Our Clients

This is primarily a technical change and will not affect any work we have already undertaken for you or any ongoing matters. Our commitment to our clients remains the same, and we will continue to provide the same level of professional service.

In particular:

  • Any requisitions from HM Land Registry regarding your ID verification or Personal Loans will still be answered.

  • Any follow-up queries from the Office of the Public Guardian regarding your LPA will still be answered.

  • We will continue to assist clients with any direct requests for legal support.

Why the Change?

The key reason for this transition is to support the firm’s growth. As a Recognised Body, we now have the ability to hire employees directly, which allows us to expand our services and offer even more comprehensive legal support.

Additionally, this change makes it clearer to prospective clients that we are a law firm. While we were fully authorised to provide legal services as a Freelance Solicitor, the new designation removes any ambiguity.

Our New Name and Website

Alongside this regulatory change, we are also updating our name. From 1 March 2025, we will be known as Hale and Hawthorn, replacing our current name, Christian McAleenan Solicitor. Our website domain will also change from statdec.co.uk to haleandhawthorn.co.uk. However, all existing links will continue to work, ensuring a seamless transition.

Thank You

We appreciate your trust and support and look forward to continuing to serve you under our new name. If you have any questions about this change, please do not hesitate to reach out.
